Befriending eagles wasn’t enough for John Cena. He’s now taking on coyotes in a new Looney Tunes film, “Coyote vs. Acme.” The “Peacemaker” star will reunite with James Gunn, who is serving as a producer on the film. It’ll be directed by Dave Green who did “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.”

WILE E. COYOTE in Warner Bros. Pictures’ animated/live-action adventure “SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY,” a Warner Bros. Pictures release.

The film is set to be the story of a human lawyer who represents Wile E. Coyote in a suit against Acme Corporation. The famous canis latrans has long used Acme products in his perpetual feud against the Road Runner.

Sure Wile E. Coyote has spent ~73 years scheming against his nemesis. Some of his plan failures can be chalked up to user error. However after a certain point we question why he’d be such a loyal customer. Not sure we can blame him for filing suit.

Cena will play a lawyer representing Acme Corporation. He also happens to be the former boss of Wile E.’s counsel.

John Cena will also star in a second season of “Peacemaker” as HBO Max announced a renewal. He’ll next be seen in “Snafu” an action thriller with Jackie Chan. Also in Matthew Vaughn’s next spy thriller, “Argyle” which boasts an all star (human) cast of Bryce Dallas Howard, Henry Cavill, Samuel L. Jackson, Ariana DeBose, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Dua Lipa, and Rob Delaney.

“Coyote vs. Acme” begins filming this year.
