Telltale Games has laid off around 250 of its employees with no warning or severance in a “majority studio closure”. A skeleton crew of 25 employees will remain behind to “fulfill the company’s obligations to its board and partners”. This obligation appears to be Minecraft: Story Mode for Netflix, according to Variety. The fate of other games looks bleak. The previously announced The Wolf Among Us 2 and Stranger Things appear to be effectively canceled. Netflix has released the premiere date of Marvel’s Daredevil season three along with a new teaser trailer. A 2019 release was anticipated based on previous release dates, but earlier in August we caught wind we may be getting season three earlier than expected. As it turns out, we will be getting a new season in less than a month – October 19th, to be specific. According to Variety, Disney is looking to host shows involving the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most popular characters, including Scarlet Witch and Loki. If reports are to believed, Disney expects Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen to reprise their roles in the potential shows. After ending its contract with Netflix earlier in the year to start its own streaming service, Disney is making yet another power move to temp fans over. Good news, ‘Doom Patrol’ fans! Filming has officially begun this month on the upcoming series. Earlier this month, film crews were spotted in Atlanta and Conyers. The Rockdale Citizen reported production crews had been seen setting up and filming in Olde Town Conyers. Around the same time, the Gwinnett Daily Post reported a casting call in Lawrenceville, Georiga for Marinella Hume Casting Atlanta. Fox has removed a scene from the upcoming film The Predator after learning one of the actors featured in the scene was a registered sex offender. On Thursday, the Los Angeles Times reported Fox deleted the short three page scene between Steven Wilder Striegel and Olivia Munn after learning of Striegel’s criminal convictions. Alec Baldwin is no longer set to take part in the upcoming Joker movie. As previously reported two days ago, Baldwin was announced to be playing Thomas Wayne in Todd Phillips’ Joaquin Phoenix-led Warner Bros movie set to release October 4, 2019.
