Since its announcement, season four of The Seven Deadly Sins has been shrouded in mystery. Naming the newest season The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods, Netflix promises this season will bring the series closer to its climax. But when can fans actually look for the episodes? According to Moetron News, the newest season will launch in Japan in Fall 2019.
For clarity, Netflix identifies the latest installment as season four. The series’ four OVA episodes are identified as season two. This means the latest season is actually season three, despite there only being two full seasons to date.
On Twitter, an announcement was made about an official pre-screening event for the third iteration of the series. The event is for Japan exclusively and will be held on September 22. Logically, the release of the newest season would be shortly after this event in fall 2019. Due to Netflix’s licensing outside of Japan, this means a delayed release until 2020 will be likely for other parts of the world. A new teaser or full trailer for the newest season will likely drop within the next few months.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods will be produced under a new studio. Studio Deen will be taking over this season after A-1 Pictures produced all previous iterations. The new season will be directed by Susumu Nishizawa and composed by Rintarou Ikeda. All previous voice actors will be returning to their roles for this season. So fans may not notice much of a change from the previous seasons.
So although no official confirmation has come out yet, chances are high that we will be seeing Meliodas again soon.
