Okay… so admittedly, I should have read the instruction manual that came with my iPod Touch. But I didn’t. So I’m not sure if this was in there or not, but in going along with theme of this blog (which is tips, tricks, hints, hacks, and lesser known features (yeah, so I’m building that list as I go. What’re you gonna do ’bout it, punk?)), here an iPod Touch trick:
- Double tapping the menu button (you know, the only real hardware button on the face of the device) will bring up the play/pause/fast-forward/rewind/volume/track-info dialog. You can do this in most apps… definitely in Safari. But what’s really nice is that you can do this while the iPod’s screen is off without having to unlock the device. Prior to this discovery (and in worse case scenario mode… which honestly, is not that uncommon), I would have to click the “on” button, slide the unlocker, click menu, tap the music icon, press “Now Playing”, and then finally press pause. Now I just double tap the the menu button and tap pause.
Nice tip, right? You and me, we should probably read the included instruction manuals, right? Nah… where’s the fun in that?
